The club decisively dealt with a fan exhibiting inappropriate conduct in the Champions League round of 16 second leg match versus Benfica at Santiago Bernabeu.

The individual was immediately asked to leave the stadium after making a gesture widely interpreted as a Nazi salute before kickoff.

The incident occurred during the pre-match ceremony, when a large banner displaying the message "No To Racism" was visible in the stands. Despite this anti-racism atmosphere, the broadcast camera captured a fan making an offensive gesture from the supporters’ section. Security quickly identified and escorted the person out of the stadium, which holds over 80,000 spectators.

Shortly after, Real Madrid issued an official statement confirming they requested the Internal Disciplinary Committee to initiate proceedings to revoke the individual’s membership. The Spanish royal club emphasized their condemnation of all acts and expressions inciting hatred and violence in sports and society. This firm stance demonstrates the club’s zero-tolerance policy toward extremist behavior in the stands.

According to Spanish media, the Nazi salute itself does not constitute a criminal offense unless accompanied by other hate-inciting factors.
