Japan's coach summoned as many as 30 players to the Vietnam national team.

The Vietnam U17 women's squad assembled in preparation for the 2027 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers, summoning 30 players in total.

In order to prepare for the 2027 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers, starting from August 17, u17 The Vietnam U17 women's national team has convened at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. The team will have approximately 7 weeks of preparation. Head coach Masahiko Okiyama and his players are striving for optimal readiness, with the objective of securing the top spot in the group to earn a place in the final round.

According to the plan, during the first three weeks, the team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to enhance physical fitness, improve individual technique, and develop team cohesion. Afterwards, they will travel to Japan for a 12-day training camp, where they are expected to play 4 friendly matches. This crucial phase allows the players to compete against high-level opponents, thereby testing and refining tactical strategies.

After the training camp in Japan, the team will return to Hanoi for about one more week of training before finalizing the 23-player squad for the qualifiers.

In the final stage, the entire team will move to Ba Ria – Vung Tau about a week before the tournament to adapt to the weather, pitch conditions, and complete their preparations. Coach Masahiko Okiyama considers the 7-week preparation period vital, as it enables the coaching staff to build the team's playing style, evaluate the squad, and bring the players to peak condition before the official competition.

In the 2027 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers, the Vietnam U17 women's team is grouped with Palestine, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Kyrgyzstan. Assessing the opponents, Coach Masahiko Okiyama noted that youth football in Asia is increasingly invested in and developing, so the team must prepare seriously and avoid any complacency. For Palestine, the coaching staff has collected match footage from the West Asian U17 Women's Tournament held in July for study and analysis. Regarding Northern Mariana and Kyrgyzstan, the coaching staff will continue to monitor, evaluate, and develop appropriate strategies as the tournament unfolds.

Coach Masahiko Okiyama affirms that the goal of the Vietnam U17 women's national team is to finish first in the group, thereby aiming for a ticket to the 2027 Asian U17 Women's Finals.
