Bac Ninh Club recruits Minh Tung, raising the number of new recruits to 13.

Bac Ninh FC has further bolstered its lineup for the 2026/27 V.League season, having secured the signing of defender Nguyen Minh Tung. He becomes the 13th newcomer unveiled by the team during this offseason transfer period.

Nguyen Minh Tung is the latest face to join Bac Ninh Club after leaving The Cong Viettel. The central defender, born in 1992, came through the youth system of Thanh Hoa football and has been playing professionally for over a decade.

In his career, Minh Tung has played for Xi măng The Vissai Ninh Bình, Than Quảng Ninh, Đông Á Thanh Hóa, Ho Chi Minh City Club, and Thể Công Viettel. One of the notable highlights of his career is winning the National Cup three times with three different clubs: Ninh Bình in 2013, Than Quảng Ninh in 2016, and Thanh Hóa in 2023.

The arrival of Minh Tung further demonstrates the rapid pace of squad strengthening by Bac Ninh after the club earned promotion to the V.League for the 2026/27 season.

Earlier, the Kinh Bac club had added three Brazilian foreign players. Midfielder Vitor Hugo Rosa Nascimento (Vitao), who previously played for Hanoi Police Club, was brought in to reinforce the midfield, while Rafael Santos de Sousa strengthens the defense and Brenner Marlos is a new option for the attack. Brenner previously played for Nam Dinh last season.

Among domestic players, Bac Ninh FC successively welcomed Nguyen Chinh Dang, Nguyen Van Viet, Nguyen Duy Duong, and Le Thang Long. The team then added two more midfielders, Luong Hoang Nam and Le Tien Anh. Hoang Nam was part of the Vietnam U20 team that participated in the 2017 U20 World Cup, while Tien Anh was once called up to the Vietnam national team under coach Park Hang Seo.

The goalkeeper position has also seen significant changes with the arrivals of Nguyen Van Cong and Duong Tung Lam. Van Cong has many years of experience in the V.League, while Tung Lam came through the training system of Hanoi FC and played for Ha Tinh in the 2025/26 season.

On August 14, Bac Ninh continued to announce Pierre Lamothe, a Canadian-Vietnamese midfielder who has played for Quang Nam, Hanoi FC, and SHB Da Nang. With the addition of Nguyen Minh Tung, the list of new recruits announced by Bac Ninh for the new season has now reached 13 players.

The 13 new recruits of Bac Ninh Club as of the morning of August 18 include: Vitor Hugo Rosa Nascimento, Rafael Santos de Sousa, Brenner Marlos, Nguyen Chinh Dang, Nguyen Van Viet, Nguyen Duy Duong, Le Thang Long, Luong Hoang Nam, Le Tien Anh, Nguyen Van Cong, Duong Tung Lam, Pierre Lamothe, and Nguyen Minh Tung.

The reinforcement process followed a major squad overhaul. After the 2025/26 season, Bac Ninh parted ways with 13 players, including goalkeeper Huynh Tuan Linh, Truong Van Thiet, Nguyen Thanh Long, Ha Duc Chinh, Bruno Cunha, and Kaina Nunes. On the other hand, defender Mai Xuan Quyet has had his contract extended until 2029.

Not only stabilizing the squad, Bac Ninh also finalized the contract extension with head coach Paulo Foiani on August 18. The Brazilian coach will continue to lead the team in the 2026/27 season after contributing to Bac Ninh's promotion.

The continuous addition of players with V.League experience shows that Bac Ninh is preparing quite aggressively for its first season in Vietnam's top football league. With 13 new recruits already announced, the core of the Kinh Bac club is undergoing significant changes ahead of the start of the 2026/27 V.League.
