In a breaking exclusive on August 17, Beijing time, top transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Barcelona and Manchester City have finalized the transfer of Rodri, with City approving the latest bid from the Catalan club, closing the deal entirely.

According to confirmation from The Athletic's top journalist David Ornstein, the total transfer fee for Rodri is €76.5 million (£65.4 million), consisting of a fixed €60 million plus over €11 million in achievable bonus clauses.

Despite Rodri's contract having only 12 months left, Manchester City is still expected to receive at least €71.5 million.

Manchester City correspondent Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News also confirmed this. Over the past few days, Barcelona submitted five different offers to City, four formal and one verbal, and after a lengthy negotiation, City finally agreed to let Rodri go.
