Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig result: The Grey Wolves lift the cup at the cost of three key players

Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 3-1 to claim the 2026 Telekom Cup, yet the happiness of the "Grey Wolves" was marred by Konrad Laimer, Kim Min-jae, and Jamal Musiala all exiting the field because of fitness problems.

Bayern Munich entered the match against RB Leipzig with the aim of maintaining a positive buildup to the new season. The home side started proactively, but before they could make a difference, they received the first worrying signal.

In the 8th minute, Konrad Laimer felt unwell after a challenge with David Raum. The Austrian midfielder tried to continue playing but lasted only about two more minutes before being replaced by Sacha Boey.

However, Bayern quickly regained control. In the 57th minute, Aleksandar Pavlović delivered a beautiful pass for Nathaniel Brown to surge forward from the left flank. The defender handled it cleanly before beating Maarten Vandevoordt to restore the home side's lead.

Bayern's joy continued to be mixed with concerns over squad depth. In the 66th minute, Kim Min-jae went down and could not continue, forcing the coach to bring on Hiroki Ito as a replacement.

The victory helps Bayern maintain a positive run of results in the preseason, but the cases of Laimer, Kim Min-jae, and Musiala will certainly be a major concern after the final whistle.
