Kieran Trippier is becoming the center of attention at Wolverhampton Wanderers after experiencing one of the most unbelievable starts in his career. The English defender has just decided to join the Championship club, but only 3 days after signing the contract, manager Rob Edwards unexpectedly was sacked.

Notably, Coach Edwards was considered one of the key reasons why Trippier chose Wolverhampton. The 35-year-old player had positive exchanges with the English tactician before deciding to leave Newcastle United to start a new challenge, but things quickly turned around. Wolverhampton decided to terminate the contract with Coach Edwards and accelerated the process of appointing Cesar Peixoto as his replacement.

Sharing in his first interview since joining Wolverhampton, Trippier admitted he was also surprised by the club's decision: "I'm not going to sit here and lie, I didn't expect this at all. I just want to get back to Wolves. Honestly, I don't know where the rumors that I want to tear up the contract come from - it's definitely not from me, otherwise you would have heard it from my own mouth, that's the kind of person I am."

At the age of 35, Trippier accepted a return to the Championship after more than a decade playing at the highest level. Before coming to Wolverhampton, he had memorable years at Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid, and Newcastle, while also winning La Liga with Atletico.

Trippier said that the decision to drop down to the Championship does not make him feel ashamed. On the contrary, the English player wants to try a new environment and especially considers being close to his children as an important factor.

With Wolverhampton, Trippier is also playing a leadership role in the dressing room. He warned his teammates that the Championship is a league tough and completely different from the Premier League, where every match can become a physical battle.
