Coach Anthony Hudson declares that the Thai team is ready to defeat Singapore.

On August 13 at 1:45 PM, the Thai squad assembled at Suvarnabhumi Airport to depart for Singapore for the semi-final first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 against the home team.

The Thai team finished the group stage as leaders of Group B and will face Singapore, the runners-up of Group A, in the semi-finals.

Before departing, Thailand's head coach Anthony Hudson said: "We have trained well throughout the week. We have had plenty of time to prepare for this match. Tomorrow, the team will have its final training session before facing Singapore. We may add a few more details, but for now everything is in good shape."

Regarding Patrik Gustavsson's situation, Hudson stated: "We must thank BG Pathum United for cooperating and allowing him to join and support the team in the semi-finals.

Patrik did not play in the group stage, a period when we implemented various tactics and playing styles. However, having an additional attacking player, especially with Patrik's style which differs from the other players, I believe will greatly benefit us in this round."

Evaluating Singapore, Coach Hudson noted that Thailand's preparation is not much different from how the team analyzed opponents in the group stage.

"We still have the same workflow, team preparation, and match plan as before. But from the information we have studied, Singapore has strengths and has improved. They have good player quality, good coordination, and high team spirit. Many players are also familiar with the coaching staff. We must admit that Singapore is a dangerous and strong team.

Our preparation is no different from the previous four matches. The goal when playing away against Singapore is also the same as other matches. We must prepare well and hope to achieve what we did in the previous four matches."

Meanwhile, Thailand's right-back Narubadin Weerawatnodom said: "After the match against Myanmar, we had quite a lot of rest time. I think all players in every position are ready for the match against Singapore. Singapore has many players we are familiar with because quite a few are playing in the Thai League. We know their strengths and weaknesses.

The important thing is that the first match is away, so we need to focus on the result to create an advantage for the return leg at home. In the first match, we must pay special attention to every detail.

We have the advantage of playing away first, then the second match is at home with the support of the fans. This is an important factor that gives us an edge over the opponent. At the very least, we must return from this match with a good result. Playing away is already difficult, and if we can win, it would be even better."

Narubadin also sent a message to Thai fans: "We will be traveling to Singapore as guests. Whether you watch on TV or come to the stadium to cheer, and in the return leg as well, it will be a match where we need to take advantage. I want to invite many fans to come and support us.
