Do Hoang Hen: 'I will strive to score against Malaysia'

Hoang Hen was delighted after the win against Bangladesh, admitting he hasn't been at his best and is committed to enhancing his performance, with the goal of scoring in Vietnam's match against Malaysia on March 31.

After Vietnam's impressive 3-0 victory over Bangladesh, midfielder Do Hoang Hen shared noteworthy insights about his own performance as well as the team's overall display.

The player from Hanoi FC couldn't hide his happiness about contributing to his first win with the national team. He stated this was a crucial match, not only for the result but also as preparation for the upcoming key encounter with Malaysia.

“I personally feel very happy with this win. This match holds significant importance for the team as we prepare for the game against Malaysia,” Hoang Hen shared.

Nevertheless, the midfielder born in 1994 candidly recognized that he hasn't yet reached his optimal form. In the first half, Hoang Hen had several clear opportunities but couldn't convert them into goals. He admitted needing further improvement to contribute more to the national team.

“I haven't been at 100% form. I hope in the next match, especially against Malaysia, I can perform better and score,” he added.

Additionally, Hoang Hen also praised the way Vietnam's team executed their gameplay in this match. According to him, the whole team controlled the ball well, created many dangerous chances, and maintained an active game stance for most of the playing time.

“We tried to control the ball, create numerous opportunities, and achieved a good result,” Hoang Hen remarked.

Closing the friendly match with a positive performance, Hoang Hen and his teammates are now focusing on the bigger challenge of facing Malaysia on March 31 within the framework of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
